Flavours and sounds of the Jazz Age in the courtyard

Every Wednesday & Thursday evening in August 2026
17.00 – 21.00

In the 1920s and 1930s, jazz brought new rhythms to the age, while new ideas about food, health and modern life were emerging.

On selected evenings in August, echoes of the era return to Den Gamle By as Restaurant Gæstgivergården hosts an evening of live jazz and a menu reinterpreting ingredients, dishes and culinary trends from the Jazz Age of 1921–1935. During the meal, the waiters will explain how the menu draws on the period.

Before or after dinner, you can stroll through Den Gamle By’s historic streets and see its buildings and streets from the outside in the quiet summer evening.

We recommend booking a table by the day before your visit. Tables can be booked until 16.30 on the day. The kitchen closes at 20.30. No admission ticket to Den Gamle By is required when arriving after 17.00.
