From jewellery to Vikings
and creepy crawlies
Inside Den Gamle By itself, you'll find buildings housing whole museums of their own scattered across the town. From a large poster museum to an underground museum featuring Aarhus' history from the Viking age to today, another featuring silverware, watches, jewellery and toys with thousands of exhibits in glass display cabinets – and more.
The Hjørring House Story shows how Den Gamle By moves a building, and what you discover in the way of small insects in old furniture and duvets, behind the wallpaper and in the water and waste pipes. And Museum 1927 is a traditional museum where the exhibits are up to 10,000 years old.
