There are also stories hidden in jugs and cups

The exhibition features about 350 artefacts such as plates, jugs, cups, tureens, bowls, lidded serving dishes, butter dishes, cheese domes, finger bowls, dessert bowls, salt cellars, sugar shakers, sugar bowls and milk jugs.

Geographically, the exhibition mainly covers Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein, but also features items from Norway, England, the Netherlands, Germany and the Far East. Thus, the exhibition reflects the earthenware and porcelain used by the middle classes over time.

The treasures include Denmark’s largest collection of the ‘The Warming Service’, which was manufactured in China in 1795.
