The House of Memory is intended for people affected by dementia as well as their professional care staff and relatives. Den Gamle By’s immersive environment provides sensory experiences that can trigger distant memories. In historically authentic environments, visitors are exposed to sounds, smells and tastes that open the door to memories which are otherwise blocked by the disease.
An authentic flat trapped in time
The reminscence program is based on a three-room flat which has been furnished as if it were trapped in time from the 1950s, and where you can touch, taste and help to perform daily chores. Normally, the flat is not open to visitors, so choosing one of the following offers will give you a special experience in Den Gamle By.
