Historical Danish food in charming surroundings
Restaurant Gæstgivergården serves historical traditional Danish fare in charming surroundings. We offer a wide selection of warm and cold lunch dishes as well as open sandwiches, all based on recipes from historical cookbooks.
Try, for example, a delicious fish sandwich, or meatballs based on a recipe from the cookbook Frøken Jensens Kogebog from 1901. For children, we recommend Den Gamle By’s lunch box, which can be taken home afterwards.
Lunch can be enjoyed in De Gamle Stuer or in the more modern Pejsestue. When the weather is nice, you can relax in the sunny courtyard, where children can play in the playground. Please note that it is not possible to split the bill for individual payment. The menu includes several vegetarian dishes and is also designed to cater for people with allergies/intolerances.
