Blacksmithing Festival

In collaboration with the Danish Artistic Blacksmiths’ Association, Den Gamle By fires up the forge for this year’s blacksmithing festival.
Once again, you can experience the Danish Championship in Artistic Blacksmithing, where smiths compete for the chance to represent Denmark at next year’s Nordic Championships.
You’ll also have the opportunity to try your hand at this time-honoured craft, guided by members of the museum’s blacksmiths’ guild.
Experience it all over the weekend in the tent at the Festival Grounds – where, alongside the ringing of hammers, you can chat about the long history of blacksmithing and the opportunities it holds for the future.
